HS Indoor Tournament – CV: Feb 17 @ 11am

Players,

Please contact Coach Sostack if you are interested in playing in the annual Conestoga Valley High School Indoor Tournament on February 17th beginning at 11am.  The cost will be divided among the players (should be inexpensive!!).   Keep your touch on the ball and play against some of the best teams in the LL League.  Contact Coach Sostack at james_sostack@etownschools.org   RE:  CV Indoor Tournament.   Please let me know by January 22nd if possible.  Grades:  upcoming freshman (8th) – 11th grade.  Please list your grade when confirming by email.  Go Bears.

SAVE THE DATES – 2019 summer training

Parents/Players,

Save the Dates!  These are the training opportunities offered by the Varsity/Jr. High program during the summer months.  There may be other opportunities announced as we approach summer as well spring time!!!  Remember – “championships are won in the off season”.  Heart, dedication, discipline, and commitment are essential to the success of Etown Boys Soccer.

OPEN GYMS/PICK UP on the turf:   Beginning JUNE 3rd.

Awaiting confirmation from the athletic department but in the past we have offered this Mondays/Wednesday from 6:30-8:30pm throughout the summer.

SUMMER TEAM CAMP:  BUCKNELL UNIVERSITY –  SESSION 1  JULY 7 – 10, 2019.

Grades 9* – 12.  Cost:  $475.  Per the request of the returning varsity players we have reserved a team spot at Bucknell University.  To off set the cost we will be offering a spring fundraiser to assist players/families with this cost.  *Freshman requesting to participate must receive coach approval.  Contact Coach Sostack at james_sostack@etownschools.org with questions.

QUAD CAMP:  HEMPFIELD HIGH SCHOOL – JUNE 24 -27 : 6 – 8:30PM

Grades 7 – 12.  Cost $TBD ($10-$20).  Jr. High and Sr.  High training with college coaches.  Important and inexpensive opportunity to have first class training as a team working on both individual skills and team formations.  Each session ends with a game.  Participating school programs are Hempfield, Penn Manor, and Manheim Central.

ETOWN EXCEL STRENGTH AND AGILITY TRAINING with Coach Liskey:  ALL SUMMER

Grades 7-12.  Cost $TBD.  Coach Shawn Liskey offers excellent training that makes a difference on the field of play!!!  The program is offered for the entire summer in the mornings.  More information will be forthcoming.

Varsity and Junior Varsity Preseason :  August 12th , 2019.  Morning/Evening training sessions.  9th graders are encouraged to try out for the Varsity program!!

Jr. High Preseason:  August 19th, 2019.  Later Afternoon training sessions.

Off season boys soccer strength training begins January 14th – be there!

Boys Soccer Players – Grades 7 -12

“Championships are won in the off season”.  Under the direction of Coach Derr, Etown HS strength coach, the boys soccer program will begin its off season strength and agility program on January 14th and 15th from 3-4pm.  These first two days will introduce the program and lift techniques.  The winter program will officially begin after the high school finals (and MLK holiday) on January 23rd and run every Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 3-4pm.  The program will vary to keep it interesting and fun while gaining strength and speed.  When the small gym is available we will train on touches.  Now is the time to invest in the program’s future by demonstrating commitment to your fellow soccer brothers and coaches.   No excuses!

Championships are won in the off season! Futsal training

Parents/Players,

Due to limited gym space during the winter sports season we are encouraging players to work on their soccer skills by playing futsal.   The upcoming futsal season will run from January thru March.   Cost will depend on number of players.

Mr. Musser will organize the current sophomores and juniors, Mr. Mower will organize current freshmen.  If you are interested please contact our parent volunteers ASAP.
